March 06, 1945 - February 17, 2018

Link:  Obituary for Peter John Vebber at Feerick Funeral Home

Peter Vebber died in the arms of his wife and surrounded by his sons and daughter on February 17, 2018, at St. Luke’s Medical Center, at the age of 72.  He had spent the past year fighting hard to overcome the unexpected side-effects of a long-awaited heart transplant.  Peter is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sue; son Danny (Lisa) Vebber; son Andy (Erin) Vebber; daughter Katie (Derek) Hoven; grandkids Calvin, Oscar, Reighan and Scarlett Vebber, and Charlie and Hannah Hoven; siblings Suellen, Michael, Stephen and John Vebber, and Mary Kowalski; and more loving nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends than one man could ever reasonably hope to have. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Susan Vebber; his big brother, Tom Vebber; his naughty-but-adored Jack Russell terrier, Ernie; and countless kings, presidents, and other historical figures he never tired of reading long, boring books about.

Family and friends will gather in Peter’s honor on Wednesday, February 21, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feerick Funeral Home.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 AM at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 2490 N. Cramer Street, (corner of N. Cramer and E. Bradford Ave) Milwaukee.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery will be private for the family.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to the Aurora St. Luke’s Aurora Partnership Campaign in the name of the 7th floor CVICU nurses, the hardworking genius angels who never gave up on Peter and came to think of him as family over the course of his hospitalization.
